Instruments

Currently, we have the most McElroy fusion equipment, McElroy quality measuring instruments, McElroy certified and experienced fusion operators for fusing small and large diameter HDPE pipes up to 65-inch.

Our fusion jobs are checked and assessed against international standards such as ASTM F2620-12 for Butt-Fusion HDPE pipeline fusion by a Mc Elroy fully certified international Fusion Quality Inspector to guarantee the best quality to our customers.

The McElroy Fusion Quality Inspector analyzes the data plot-sheet of every fusion joint.

Fusion joints which are not in compliance with the standards are being cut-out and re- fused. After each fusion the beads are also visually inspected, whereby unacceptable beats are being cut-out and re-fused.

The data-logger

The use of data-loggers ensures that the correct parameters, such as interfacial pressure, temperature, heat-soak time and cooling time are used during the fusion process.

Furthermore, this data is made available to our Customers for their convenience and analysis.

Hydrotest datalogger

A hydrotest data logger is a device used to measure and record pressure during a hydrostatic test.

Hydrostatic tests are commonly used in the oil and gas, water, and industrial piping industries to verify the integrity and strength of pipelines, containers, and vessels. The hydrotest data logger is equipped with sensors that accurately measure the pressure and store the data for later analysis.

The data collected by the logger can be used to identify any leaks or weaknesses in the system, allowing maintenance or repair work to be carried out before the system is put into use.

Vacuumboxes

A vacuum box is a device used in Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) for the inspection of storage tanks. It is used to detect surface discontinuities such as pinholes, cracks, or weld defects in the tank walls by creating a vacuum inside the box and drawing the surrounding air through any imperfections in the tank surface. The vacuum box creates a differential pressure between the inside and outside of the tank, which makes any defects visible as the air is drawn through them.

NDT inspections are important for storage tanks because they can help to identify potential issues before they become more serious and cause structural failure or leaks. The vacuum box is a useful tool for this type of inspection because it is non-invasive and does not require the tank to be taken out of service. By using a vacuum box, inspectors can quickly and efficiently identify any issues, reducing the risk of costly repairs or environmental damage.
